Preliminary information
Before getting to the heart of the tutorial, that is, before telling you which ones are the best app to record calls with iPhone, it is my duty to provide you with some preliminary information regarding the case in question.
To begin with, keep in mind that recording your phone calls, even without the interlocutor being aware of it, it is not a crimeas long as the registrations are not disseminated o made to listen to by others. To do this, in fact, the express consent of the person with whom the call was made is required. If not, take the violation.
Another thing to clarify is that, in order to use the apps that allow you to record calls made, it may be necessary to activate the conference service, that is the one that allows you to speak to more than one interlocutor simultaneously, requesting it from your own telephone operator.
To enable the aforementioned service, simply contact the reference operator and explicitly request it. If you do not know how to contact TIM, Vodafone, Wind, Tre or Iliad, you can follow the instructions contained in my specific tutorials on what to do that I have just linked to you.
Best app to record calls with iPhone
Having made the necessary clarifications above, let's get to the real heart of the matter and let's find out, therefore, which are the best apps to record calls with iPhone. You can find them below: identify the one that you think can do the most for you and put it to the test right away.
TapeACall
The first app to record iPhone calls that I want to suggest you use is TapeACall. It is one of the most famous and appreciated solutions of this type. It allows you to record both incoming and outgoing calls and, to work, it uses the conference service of telephone operators. Note that it could give problems with Vodafone, as the developer makes it known that the application is not supported by the manager. You download for free and you can try it at no cost for 7 days, after which, to continue using the service, you need to sign up for a subscription (at a basic cost of € 4,99 / month).
To download and install the app on your iPhone, go to the relevant section of the App Store, press the button Get, quindi quello Install and authorize the download by Face ID, touch ID o password dell'ID Apple. Successfully, avvia l'app, premendo sul pulsating apri appeared on the screen or select theicon which has just been added to the home screen.
Once the main screen of the app is displayed, tap on the button Sign Up, immetti il tuo cellphone number in the field provided (first checking that the correct international prefix is selected in the adjacent menu), touch the button Continue and wait for the SMS with the verification code to be received, then type the latter in the appropriate field and press the button again Continue.
Now, tap the green button Continue and agree to the annual subscription with the 7-day free trial to start using TapeACall. There is no obligation to renew: if you want to avoid paying, you can deactivate the subscription even before the trial expires, following the instructions on what to do that I have provided in my guide on the subject.
Select, therefore, the country of your interest from the proposed list and bring up ON the switches located in correspondence with the items Consenti notified e Access your contacts. Then, tap the button Play located at the bottom, in order to start playing the tutorials related to the operation of the application.
At this point, if you need to record an outgoing call, do this: press on red circular button located in the center of the app's main screen, select the number next to the item Call in the menu that opens, touch the button another call visible on the phone call screen and enter the phone number of the person to call, by going to the section Keypad screen displayed or, if present in the address book, select it from the list in the section Contacts. When the call has started, wait for the other person to answer, then tap the button merge visible on the display.
If, on the other hand, you need to record an incoming call, answer it as you usually do (i.e. by pressing the green button with the handset lifted visible on the iPhone screen when you receive a phone call), then open TapeACall, tap on red circular button located in the center and tap the button merge on the phone call screen.
In both cases, the recording of the call will be interrupted when the call is over. You can then listen to it again and possibly export the resulting audio file, simply by tapping the button Play located on the main screen of the app and selecting the recording of your interest from the list that is shown to you.
REKK Call Recorder
Another app to record iPhone calls that I suggest you try is REKK Call Recorder. It allows you to record incoming and outgoing phone calls, is very simple to use, has a nice user interface and also performs call transcription. To work, it requires your telephone operator to support three-way calling (hence the conference function I mentioned earlier). It is free to download, but in order to work it requires a subscription with costs starting from 4,99 euros / week.
To download and install the app on your iPhone, access the relevant section of the App Store, tap the button Get, quindi quello Install and authorize the download by Face ID, touch ID o password dell'ID Apple. Successfully, avvia l'app, premendo sul pulsating apri appeared on the screen or select theicon which has just been added to the home screen.
Once the main screen of the app is displayed, tap on the button Start using REKK, enter your phone number in the appropriate field (first checking that the correct international prefix is selected in the adjacent menu), touch the button Use SMS (to receive the verification code by SMS) or on that Receive a code via WhatsApp (to receive the verification code via WhatsApp), then type the code you just received in the field provided and press the button Continue.
Then respond to the warning that appears on the screen by tapping the button OK, in order to allow the app to access the contacts in the address book, then touch the button Allow, to allow receiving notifications. Then tap on "X" located at the top left, to close the screen with the app's user manual.
Now, if you are going to record an outgoing call, press the button Keyboard present on the main screen of the application and enter the phone number of your interest. Alternatively, click on the button Contacts and select a contact from the address book. Then, tap the button OK, select the number located next to the entry Call in the menu that opens, select the notification that appears at the top of the display, select the other number displayed next to the wording Call in the additional menu that is shown to you and, once you have received an answer from the person you are calling, press on the key merge visible on the phone call screen.
Interested in recording an incoming call? Then you have to proceed in this way: answer the phone call as usual (i.e. by tapping on green button with the handset lifted visible on the iPhone screen when you receive a phone call), then open REKK, press on purple circular button with the microphone at the top and, on the phone call screen, tap the button merge.
All call recordings will then be saved automatically once the conversation is over. To listen to them, touch the wording Logs that you find at the bottom of the app screen and select the conversation of your interest from the list. If you wish, you can also share the resulting audio file by pressing onsharing icon (Quella with the square and the arrow) visible on the next screen, from which you can also view the transcript and add annotations to the clip.
Super Call Recorder
Super Call Recorder is another app that I seriously suggest you consider. It also allows you to record incoming and outgoing calls, does not impose time limits and has a nice user interface. Note that, also in this case, it is necessary that the telephone operator in use supports three-way calling. You can download it for free and you can try it for free for 7 days, after which it is necessary to subscribe to the appropriate subscription through in-app purchases (at the basic cost of € 4,99 for three months).
Once the main screen of the app is displayed, follow the short introductory tutorial that is proposed to you and tap the button Close. Now, to activate the free trial of the service, tap the button Check Our Deals which is at the top and choose the plan you prefer (there is no obligation to renew, you can deactivate the subscription even before the trial expires, if you want to avoid paying, following the instructions in my post on the subject).
At this point, press the button Login & Start recording, type your phone number in the appropriate field (first checking that the correct international prefix is selected in the field above, eg. prefix for the city), then touches the wording Verify located at the top right. Then enter the code received via SMS in the on-screen field and touch the item Next, top right.
Subsequently, if you want to record an outgoing call, proceed as follows: go to the iOS home screen, select the app icon Telephone (Quella with the raised white handset and the green background) and dial the number you want to call in the section Keypad or start the call to a contact already in the directory, selecting the latter from the section Contacts of the app. When the call has started, go back to the Super Call Recorder screen, tap the circular red button placed in the center, go to the phone call screen and press the button merge.
If, on the other hand, you want to record an incoming call, answer it as usual (then pressing the green button with the handset lifted visible on the iPhone screen when you receive a phone call), then open Super Call Recorder, press on pulsating circolare rosso located in the center, return to the call screen and press the button merge.
In both cases, the recording will be stopped when the call has ended. You can then view the list of recorded calls by going to the section Recordings of the app. To listen to a specific recording, simply tap on it.
App to record iPhone calls for free
None of the apps for recording calls with iPhone that I suggested in the previous lines convinced you in a particular way and would you therefore like me to recommend some alternative solution? Then turn to the further solutions of this type that I have proceeded to include in the list below. They can all be downloaded for free, but in order to register you must pay according to the methods established by the developer.
- Call Recorder - Int Call - application that allows you to record phone calls, both those made and those received, which, however, does not act automatically. You download for free, but you need to make in-app purchases (at a basic cost of 1,09 euros) to purchase the prepaid credit needed to register or to subscribe.
- Cally - Call Recorder - allows you to record and listen to both incoming and outgoing calls, without limiting their duration. It has a nice user interface and is very simple to use. You can download it for free, but to take advantage of the functions offered you need to sign up for the appropriate subscription through in-app purchases (with prices starting from 2,99 euros).
- CallRec Lite - IntCall - another app of this type, well made and working with both incoming and outgoing calls. Note that only the first 60 seconds of recorded calls can be heard. To get around this limitation, you have to make in-app purchases (with prices starting from € 1,99) to unlock the single feature or to switch to the Pro version. The download, however, is free.
