If you want to learn how to create a free blog on the Internet, the most complete and reliable platform you can turn to is WordPress. It is a CMS licensed under the GPL that ensures the highest degree of customization. In fact, it has many themes and plugins that can be downloaded freely from the Internet and allow you to model the appearance and functionality of the blog according to your needs. Unfortunately, the installation of themes and plugins is not freely accessible in blogs hosted on WordPress.com (the service that allows you to create your own WordPress blog without purchasing an online space), but we will talk about this in a bit.
If you want to create a free blog with WordPress, connect to the WordPress.com website and click on the button Create website! to start creating your free account on the service. On the page that opens, select a theme from those available (eg. Writing and books, Business and services, Art and entertainment o Health and Wellness) and define more precisely the profile of the blog you intend to open by selecting one of the sub-categories that are proposed to you (eg. Technology and computers in Business and services).
Now you have to select what you want the blog home page to look like (e.g. a list of the most recent articles, a welcome page or a grid with the most recent articles) and you must select the graphic theme to be used on the site.
After this step too, fill in the form that is proposed to you and enter in it the address you want to assign to your blog (the address will be name-which-have-selected.wordpress.com). Then wait a few moments and, if the address is available, choose the free plan at WordPress.com by clicking on the button Select placed next to the item that concerns him.
Now confirm your willingness to use the WordPress free plan by clicking on the button Select for free, and fill out the form that is proposed to you by entering it your email, an username it's a Password to log into WordPress. Finally click on the button Create my account and wait a few moments for your blog to be prepared.
At this point, all you have to do is click on the button Continue and confirm your WordPress account by clicking on confirmation link received by email. Done! Now you are free to post as many articles as you want and to customize your blog in the way you prefer.
To connect to the management panel of your blog, go back to the main WordPress page and log in to your account by clicking on the button Log in located at the top right. To post your first article, instead, click onpencil icon which is located at the top right.

As mentioned above, the "cooked and eaten" version of WordPress (the one that offers a free web space on WordPress.com) features several limitations compared to the "free" one, which can be downloaded for free and installed on any online space purchased separately. For example, it does not allow deep customization of themes, the addition of external plugins or the insertion of advertisements within blogs.

Blogger
Another great platform for create a free blog on the Internet is Google's Blogger, which can count on ease of use equal to that of WordPress and direct integration with all “big G” services. To create a blog on Blogger, connected to the main page of the service and click on the link Create an account (located at the bottom) to create a Google account to be used to access the platform. At the end of the registration (or if you already have a Google account), go to the Blogger home page, click on the button New blog and, in the box that opens, choose the title, address and graphic theme to use in the blog.
In a few clicks you will be ready to start your adventure as a blogger having a very flexible system to customize the appearance and contents of your "corner of the Web".
Unlike WordPress.com, Blogger also supports programmatic theme customization and adding banner ads to blogs. However, the site address remains "complicated", ie something like name-which-have-selected.blogspot.com. Unfortunately, it cannot be downloaded and used on a separately purchased web space.
To post your first article, log into Blogger and click on the pencil located at the top left, or on the button New post located in the left sidebar.
Tumblr
If you do not have very big aspirations as a blogger and you are satisfied with a small online space, simple and essential, in which to share your thoughts with readers, you can turn to Tumblr. Tumblr is a platform for creating tumblelog, i.e. blogs in which articles are generally published more concise than those present in blogs but richer in multimedia elements, such as photos, videos, etc. To simplify the concept as much as possible, we can define it as a hybrid between a blogging platform and a social network.
To register for free on Tumblr and create your tumblelog, all you have to do is connect to the main page of the service and click on the button Start. Then fill out the form in the center of the screen with email, username and password you intend to use and click on the button Subscribe to move forward.
At this point, fill out the form that is proposed to you by typing e-mail, Password e username you want to use to subscribe to Tumblr. Then enter your age in the field How old are you?, metti il segno di spunta accanto alla voce I have read, understood and accepted the Tumblr Terms of Service and click on NEXT to continue the guided process of creating your small blog. If a box appears with the entry next to it I'm not a robot, tick it to confirm the subscription to the service.
Now you have to choose the topics that interest you the most (eg. Funny, Home and style, Sport etc.) so that tumbelogs are suggested to you to follow. When the operation is completed, click on the button Next and start sharing your content on Tumblr by clicking on the icon pencil located at the top right. You can post testi, photo, citations e link, to boot chat, to share audio e video.

Medium
In conclusion, I want to point out Medium, an original blogging platform created by one of the co-founders of Twitter. It has some social features like Tumblr (for example posts are sorted by theme just like on Tumblr), you can subscribe to a user's posts and you can vote for articles.
Medium cannot be hosted on an external space and does not provide for graphic customizations: all blogs have the same look, elegant and with large images, and there is no possibility to insert advertising banners. In short, it should only be used if you want to actively participate in its community and believe you are in line with its "target" (generally, the contents of the service are of very high quality and mostly in English).
If you are interested in Medium and want to try your adventure on this platform, connect to its home page and click on the item Sign in / Sign up located at the top right. So choose whether to log in with your email address or with your Google, Twitter or Facebook accounts and complete the authentication process by following the instructions on the screen.
When the operation is completed, log into your account and click on the first tua photo top right and then on the item New Story to write a new post. The rest is useless to explain: the editor is extremely clear and intuitive.
