Preliminary information
Prima di enter the dettaglio della procedura su how to create races in GTA Online, I think it might interest you to know more about this possibility.
Well, you should know that, starting from 2015, the Rockstar Games title makes available to users of editor. Put simply, the latter are tools that many enthusiasts have always dreamed of, since they allow build your own gaming experiences e let other people play them online as well.
In any case, don't worry if you are unable to program. In fact, everything here is a bit like Roblox: you don't need to know any kind of programming language to create your own map, since you take advantage of the tool created directly by the developers, which allows you to model the game environment in a very simple way.
In case you were wondering, yes - this possibility is available for all platforms, since Rockstar Games has been implementing it for some time now not only on PC, but also on consoles like PlayStation 4 e Xbox One.
Among the most common uses of these Rockstar editors, in addition to the editing of "cinematic" videos that are created from the gameplay, there is the creation of vehicle races. In fact, over the years various editors of this type have been introduced, from the one related to stunt station released in 2016 up to the one linked to the update Arena War.
In short, the possibilities to create your own race within GTA Online are not lacking and the goal of this guide is to explain how to make the most of this possibility, giving life to the races of your dreams. If everything is clear, then, I would say take action.
How to access the GTA Online editor
One of the most common doubts among GTA Online novice players is the one concerning theaccess to the editor. In fact, over the years Rockstar Games has made changes to this procedure, so it may not be immediate to find the right option.
In light of what has just been said, it seems only right to provide you with detailed information on how to proceed. I will consider the version PS4 of the game to give you a practical example. To proceed, once logged in to GTA Online, press the button Options of the controller and go to the tab ONLINE. After that, tap on the item Creator and later on that Ok.
In this way you will access thegame editor, which is therefore not called editor but has been translated into "creator". Here you can create various types of experiences, which I will now explain to you in more detail.
How to create races in GTA 5 Online
Once inside theeditor at GTA Online, it's time to take action and create your first race.
You may have already noticed that the editor allows you to create a little bit of everything, come on deathmatch up to Last Man Standing, passing through matches in Survival mode. In any case, to reach the goal you have set for yourself, you have to press the button X controller on the option Create a race.
At this point, the system will ask you which one type of race you want to create. If this is your first time doing this, some options may be blocked (for example, you may not be able to create water or aerial races). To unlock all the possibilities of the editor it is in fact necessary to publish the first race on the Rockstar Social Club.
To do this, my advice is to press on the item Tutorial, in order to have on-screen indications, to learn in addition to those that I will provide you in this guide. Once you have done this and passed the first indications of the game, press the button X of the controller on the voice Race details to start making changes.
Now, insert title e description of the race e take a picture following the instructions that appear on the screen. Once this is done, if you want, you can already go ahead and leave everything as default.
However, in case you want to create a proper race, you should know that from this menu you can configure many other options. For example, you can choose the type of race, number of laps, the vehicles available and weather conditions. In short, I strongly recommend that you take a look at these possibilities and modify them to your liking.
Once you've finished editing, press the button hoops del, pad to go back, and then on the voices Placement e Place activation place. At this point, use the analog of the controller per move on the map and choose the point from which your race will startby pressing the button X above the chosen place and then selecting the item Select activation place.
Next, hit on the option View of the waiting room, shift the view and take the picture that you think best represents the track you want to build. Put simply, this is the image that appears on the right in the waiting room when you select the activity to do.
After doing this, press the button X on the controller above the item Checkpoint. This is where the actual creation of the race starts, given that the track is composed using the checkpoints. In fact, the start point that you placed also acts as finish line.
Either way, you can now select the maximum number of players of your race and build your own starting grid. The latter will be the first checkpoint, then you will have to place them manually. The checkpoints are used to "save" the progress made on the track by the players. If one of them destroys the vehicle, he will start from the last checkpoint.
To position the various checkpoints, you just need to move with the analogs for the map and press the button X of pad. Obviously, you have to build a sensible path. If you want advice, it's always best to place checkpoints so that players see the next one when they activate one.
Once the third checkpoint, the game will invite you to change view, pressing the touchpad of the controller. If you can't change your view, move with the analogs in a free place. Put simply, the editor allows you to place checkpoints in two ways: from above, or as you have done so far, or directly while you are driving, so you can see the track firsthand as you build it.
The method for placing checkpoints is always the same. The only aspect you need to pay attention to is always rotate them in the right direction. For example, while you are in the view from above, you can use the keys L1 e R1 of the pad to correctly position the cars you see on the screen.
At this point, the game will tell you that a track must be built in order to publish the race at least one kilometer long. In short, you just have to continue placing checkpoints, remembering, in the end, to return to the start point of the race, which will also be on finish line.
Once thelast checkpoint, just press the button hoops on the controller, to go back, and select the option Race. This will start a test race on the track you have built and you will be able to understand if it is a good race or if there is still something to do to fix it before publishing it online.
In any case, you need to be able to complete the race in person at least once before making it public. This is a method designed by Rockstar to ensure users that all the activities on the Social Club can really be completed and are enjoyable.
After completing the test ride and making all the necessary changes, you just have to press on the option Public and wait a few seconds for your race to be made available.
At this point, press the button X of the pad above the voice Torna to GTA Online. Next, press the key Options of the controller, go to the tab ONLINE and go to the path Activities> Start Activities> My Activities> Competitions. Here you will find the race you created and just press on it and select the item Ok to start it.
You will thus enter the Waiting room of the activity you created and from here you can do from host e invite all players you will want. It will all happen just like when you play the other activities in GTA Online, so you shouldn't have any kind of problem.
